Delivered 210 savers to Lutheran General Hospital today. I thought I counted 200 but I guess another 10 found their way in the box somehow! I had so many to give my usual ziplock bag method just wasn't going to work! The second picture shows about half of what I was donating. I was down to 2 yesterday around this time. These 3 printers are knocking out 32 in 140 minutes. We have passed 1700 which means Friday we're hitting 2000 total prints!!! That is simply incredible and I could not have done that without all of your support! Thank you so much everyone!
Lots of good news and milestones to discuss today! Right off the bat, deliveries: 210 were delivered to Lutheran General Hospital today at 3pm. I accidently packed an extra 10 so I didn’t have the 50 I needed to ship to Elburn so that is pushed back to tomorrow.
I decided it would be appropriate to make a pie chart to visualize where the donations have been allocated in this campaign. I am pleased to inform you all we have passed $2000 in donations in two weeks! As the chart will show, slightly over half has been spent on production (materials and electricity), a quarter was spent on the printers and hardware to improve the least expensive ones I could find. And 15% was spent on getting the now 1800 ear savers to those who need them.
Finally, I used the remaining funds, around $650, to purchase 24 more spools of PLA. This gives the campaign 43,000 total grams of material, of which we have used 16.1% of. Fear not, there is still left for shipping and deliveries. At the current rate of production, we could see 13,000 ear savers finished within 2 months. Now I hope the Corona virus is gone long before then, but I am a realist, I listen to scientists, and I would rather be prepared with the need for more than to cut this short. Keep the donations coming, if we hit +$500 in investable funds, I may look at getting another, faster, printer. Thank you all for reading. Stay safe. Wash your hands. And thank you for supporting my campaign!
