MAY 17, 2020
Total prints today: 320, a new personal record. I am crediting this to all three printers running the 5% scaled down Ear Saver V3, producting 10 per plate on the Ender 3s in the same time they were making 9 full sized V2s. 1 more on 18 beds is 18 more produced daiy.
There are 1428 on hand for Tuesday's distribution
We hit 7178 total prints closing out the weekend.
The first picture is of one of the ear savers recipient's 3 year old daughter. She can now safely wear a paper mask thanks to the ear saver's smallest setting. This just shows the versatility of the ear saver in getting kids to stay protected from the corona virus.
The second picture shows the box which usually overflows at 500, holding nearly three times that!
I am happy to admit the ABS plastic has all been used up so now all three printers are using vegan PLA. As a man of science I was obligated to try ABS plastic to gather a first hand account of how it might fare compared to PLA and I am happy to admit I will never go back to ABS. I can run both Enders 20*C cooler, with their build plates 30*C cooler, I am not having any warping issues like I was with the ABS. I am kicking myself for running ABS in the first place, but now I have first hand data to say why not in the future.
Current plans are to print 100 in every color for a massive distribution day on Tuesday with 300 going to Virginia and 1000 going to New York. Then 5 local requests to fill throughout the rest of the week.
As always thank you all for your support, sharing, and your donations. Keep staying safe, stay 6 feet apart, and be nice to everyone else. We're all suffering through this same storm together.
